A Taste of Germany Friday, Oct. 24 in the Ballroom Proceeds to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Burn Camp Sponsored by the Torrington Firefighters Local 1567 and the Torrington Elks The event will offer samples of German beer, offered by local distributors including Dwan’s and J&M, Ponte’s Torringford Package Store and the Cambridge Brew Pub. There will be a buffet featuring various German food, as well as a raffle. Tickets are $25. Sign up and pay in the Main Bar. For more information, call Mark Garrison at 601-5956 or 482-9880 The Connecticut Children’s Burn Camp, located in Union, Conn., is a unique volunteer-run summer camp which is free to children ages 8-18 who have survived life-altering burn injuries. They experience a complete camping experience to help them heal emotionally and physically from their injuries.
Scotch Bowling to start Sept. 13 Scotch bowling will take place Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. and be offered on the second Saturday of each month (except December, June, July and August). Bowling talent not needed! Bring your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend or a friend as your guest and enjoy a few hours of great bowling. Names are drawn so you never know who your partner will be!
Dance/Exercise classes forming Dance/Exercise classes are forming for members and guests. If you want to have fun while getting some exercise at the same time, this is the class for you. We will be doing a little bit of everything from stretching, country line dancing to all forms of jazz. A kids class is also forming. If you are interested, call Dina Viel at 459-8062.
